Little Dot mk3 hum through headphones.

Post by bbking »

Hi, i just bought a Little dot mk3, and i am hearing a hum through the headphones.

I am already running a valve amp (x-can v2) on the same plug sockets and that has been giving me no problems at all.

The amp itself is running silent, not making any noises other than the hum through the cans.

I have tried changing the cable to a spare computer cable, i have even tried cutting the moulded plug of my spare computer cable, putting a new plug on the cable without the ground wire attached.

The amp is humming through cans even when i have no source connected.

Please help! :D

I was playing with the amp last night, and i noticed that if i let the amp go cold, it takes 18 seconds for the hum to start coming through the headphones!

If i start the amp up while already warm the hum starts much quicker or almost instanlty depending on how warm the amp is.

Does anyone think this sounds like a valve problem??

It could very well be the tubes. Have you tried cleaning the pins and/or trying replacements?
